Last Sunday, many of our neighbors were working on Harvey restoration projects, so we didn't see many when we went out to serve communion. It was still a good thing to do, however, as it reminded us that sometimes we take access to the Lord's Supper for granted, when it is a meal that is meant for all.
Our Missions Ministry is sponsoring a “Pants Drive” between now and Thanksgiving. We have been giving away the T-shirts sent to us from our sister church in Pennsylvania, but many of our Wednesday lunch guests ask for pants. Therefore, the Missions Ministry will be buying inexpensive yet sturdy pants for these individuals. If you have some gently worn pants you’d like to donate, we’re looking for sizes 30-36. Thank you in advance for your help!
It was nice to have several visitors this week, including our old friend Jeff, and friend of the Monroe/Walker families, Anita Forte, who was visiting from Illinois. She enjoyed our warm weather! Below she is pictured with Daisy Walker and Rev. V.
Thanks to Lloyd Matthews for having the 4th and 5th graders from his after school program design envelopes for our Turkeys for Settegast Heights fund. These donations go toward helping families in need have a Happy Thanksgiving. Thanks, "Mr. Matt."
It's great to have the Starks back in town after a long business trip to Kansas. Those girls have gotten SO big!
The altar flowers this week were for Diane's mom, Dorothy, and Lloyd's dad, Gene and brother Steve, who all had November birthdays.
